Baptisms (Christenings)

Baptism

A baptism marks the start of a journey with God,  in the presence of the parents, godparents and community of the local church and friends to welcome the newly Baptised, promising support and prayer for the future. A Baptism is an occasion of joyful celebration to declare our faith, and rejoice in the promises we make to God.

Baptisms in the Callington Cluster

If you would like to discuss arranging a baptism within the Callington Cluster please get in touch via email to info.callingtoncluster@gmail.com or call us on 07907081163.

We will provide you with an Application for Baptism form, once that is complete and returned, we can make arrangements to attend the Baptisms Course and upon completion of this dates will be discussed and arranged. Baptisms will usually be arranged to take place on a Sunday during a family service.

Funerals

Funeral Image

You may, sadly, be faced with the task of arranging a funeral for someone close to you. If it is the wishes for the family or departed to have a funeral at one of our churches this should be organised via a Funeral Director who will contact the Callington Cluster to make the necessary arrangements.
In the case of a burial, the funeral service is very often held at the Church before going to the cemetery.
It is also possible to have a funeral service in the Church before a cremation. Again, please ensure the Funeral Director knows your wishes.
If the service is due to take place in a Crematorium, the Parish Clergy are always willing to officiate there for you. Please make it clear to the Funeral Director if you wish the local Clergy to conduct a Church of England service.
A memorial service can be arranged if the funeral and burial are arranged elsewhere.
Bereavement affects people in many different ways. For some the pain and sense of loss may even increase as the months pass, and it may not always be easy to share it with others. The Clergy are always ready to lend a listening ear, so please contact us if you feel that would help.

Planning your Visit

A Warm Hello

Where and When

We are one church in five locations which offer a wide variety of styles of service from vibrant family friendly services to something more contemplative.  We have services starting at 8am, 9.15am,  10am, 11am and 11.15am across the Cluster of five churches.  You can find details of the services and what to expect here.  The calendar not only gives you the place and time but also a description of what you can expect from the service.

What you can be sure of is a warm welcome at whichever church you decide to visit.  Refreshments will be on offer either before or after the service.
