Stoke Climsland Parish Church is an active and caring place and our church family reflects the wide range of people from in and around the village. We are informal and inclusive in our approach to worship, aiming to help everyone encounter God, regardless of background or tradition.
So, whether you are just exploring faith or have been a Christian for a while, do come and visit. You will be most welcome.
When people think of ‘The Church’, it’s very easy to just think of the building; Churches are often big, historic buildings that, by their very size, make their presence known in the local community. However, whilst buildings demand attention, are they really ‘The Church’?
The word ‘Church’ as rendered in the New Testament comes from the Greek term ekklesia, which is from the two Greek words meaning ‘an assembly’ and ‘to call out’ or ‘called out ones’. In summary, the Church is a body of believers who have been called out from the world by God to live as his people, under the authority of Jesus Christ. So as members of the Church, life is about far more than just the building.
Jesus didn’t spend all his time in the temple, rather he spent his time in the community with those in need and, as the Christian church, we are called to do the same.
You would be welcome at any of our services.
