Growing in FaithEscalator

If you would like to find out more about the Christian faith and how it might help transform your life, there are many ways we can help.

The church runs several courses each year and there’s something for you, wherever you are on your journey:

  • Alpha Course - discovering faith for those starting on their journey

  • Freedom in Christ - growing in discipleship

  • Spring Harvest - an annual Christian holiday involving teaching, worship, fellowship and fun

  • Fellowship groups - weekly small groups to share faith with fellow Christians

You can find out more about the courses below.  To register or discuss which one might suit your needs, call Tony Stephens on 01579 371496 or email him at revtonystephens@icloud.com.

Alpha Course

Alpha is a series of interactive sessions to discuss the Christian faith in an informal, fun and friendly environment.  Alpha consists of eleven sessions, looking at topics including 'Who is Jesus?' and 'Why and how do I pray?'.  We meet over a meal and each talk is followed by discussion in small groups.

Alpha is for everyone; no question is out of bounds and you are free to discuss as much or as little as you wish.  We don't assume any background knowledge of or belief in Christianity and everyone is welcome.

Freedom in Christ

The Freedom in Christ course is a thirteen week course designed to help you take hold of the amazing truth about who you are as a follower of Christ.  If you wouldn't call yourself a follower of Christ, or you're not sure yet, then we'd recommend you try the Alpha Course first.  Jesus said that "you will experience for yourselves the truth, and the truth will free you.  John 8:32 and that's what this course is all about: Learning, understanding and experienceing God's truth, applying it to our lives, and walking free from the hurts and habits that hold us back.

Spring Harvest

Spring Harvest is a enormous gathering of Christians of all ages, denominations and backgrounds and takes place around Easter.  There’s a full range of activities, including Bible teaching, worship celebrations, seminars, workshops, sports, recreation, debates and late night entertainment.

Each year, the church organises a trip to the celebrations at Minehead.  To find out more, contact Dave Crawley 01579 370856 or email him at karibuservices@btconnect.com or visit the Spring Harvest website www.springharvest.org

Fellowship Groups

Fellowship Groups meet to deepen relationships, to pray for one another, to grow in the knowledge and understanding of God's Word, and to develop their gifts so that each person is encouraged to follow God's plan for their lives.  If you are interested in joining or forming a group, please contact Tony Stephens on 01579 371496 or email him at revtonystephens@icloud.com.
