1. In the community

When people think of ‘The Church’, it’s very easy to just think of the building; Churches are often big, historic buildings that, by their very size, make their presence known in the local community.  However, whilst buildings demand attention, are they really ‘The Church’?

The word ‘Church’ as rendered in the New Testament comes from the Greek term ekklesia, which is from the two Greek words meaning ‘an assembly’ and ‘to call out’ or ‘called out ones’.  In summary, Church is a body of believers who have been called out from the world by God to live as his people, under the authority of Jesus Christ.  So as members of the Church, life is about far more than just the building.

Jesus didn’t spend all his time in the temple, rather he spent his time in the community with those in need and, as the Christian church, we are called to do the same.

In this section you'll find details of how we are supporting those in need in our local community.  To find out more about us, why not come along to the Pop-up cafe on Tuesdays between 9.00 and 12.000 int he Parish Hall and meet some us in person.
