- Music

Worship at Stoke Climsland is supported by a very wide range of music so, whether your taste is traditional or modern, you will find something to enjoy.  Whatever your musical ability, there are also plenty of opportunities to get involved.

The church has a beautifully restored pipe organ and our organist Ryan Hill can be contacted on 01579 370729 or by email to clemejl@aol.com.  Enquiries concerning wedding or funeral arrangements should be directed to Rev. Tony Stephens on 01579 371496 or by email to revtonystephens@icloud.com.

Did you know, a recent survey showed that singing in a choir offers more health benefits than many exercies classes!  The choir at Stoke Climsland has around 30 members who meet on a weekly basis (usually on Wednesdays at 6.15 pm) and we perform at festivals and in an annual concert.  Everyone in the choir is of different ability; some have sung many times before; but for many it's their first time in a choir and their first time trying to read music.  We all help each other and make sure we have plenty of laughs along the way.  If you think you might like to join us then do call Kathryn or have a chat with one of the choir members.  Kathryn Carnegie 01579 370187 or kate.carnegie@virgin.net.

Singing Group

The singing group meets every Friday from 7.00 pm. It's a time for practising worship songs for the Sunday worship and a time of worship and fellowship. The group regularly has twelve or more people, some singers and some musicians, and provides worship before and during the more informal services.  New singers and musicians are always very welcome, either on a regular basis or for the occasional Friday when you are able.  To find our more contact Steve Brocklebank on 01579 370423 or stevebrock@uk2.net.

Bell ringing

The church has a find Tower with eight bells that are rung on a weekly basis for services as well as for special occasions. As well as ringing the main bells, our bell ringing team also play hand bells.  They meet each week on a Thursday evening and new ringers are always welcome.  For more information please contact Phil Barribal on 01579 370784 barriball@polhilsa.free-online.co.uk, or Susan Wadland on 01579 370875 or susan.wadland@btinternet.com.

Music for Fun - Hand Chimes

Come and have a go at hand chimes on Thursdays at 6.30 pm in church.  No knowledge of music is necessary as it's all done in colours and letters.  For more information contact Barbara Bennett on 01579 371144, lowernorton@yahoo.co.uk, or just come along for an enjoyable hour of music.
